The underground post, which appeared among the democratic opposition in the 1980s in the People's Republic of Poland, was not a system of postal communication. Rather, it was characterised by the design, production and dissemination of postage stamps with dissident motifs. This project examines the actors of the underground post, their motives for becoming active in this way, the goals they followed and their networking within the oppositional movement. It also studies the motifs and use of the medium of postage stamps. The research contributes to our understanding of the infrastructure of the opposition movement and of the actors who shaped this movement personally. 

The thesis has been defended in June 2019.
